STACKING

Stacking is the art of combining and styling several pieces particularly rings, in a way that highlights their individual beauty. Each piece can shine alone, but once combined they transform and offer endless possibilities. Here are some of our stacking tips; pick and choose your favourites and remember, sometimes the rules are made to be broken…

1 / Gradient

Effortlessly style your rings in a gradient to achieve a harmonious look. Start by putting the tallest ring of your stack on your finger first, then add rings with ever-decreasing heights on top. Try to wear an odd number of rings on each finger to accentuate this gradient.

2 / colour

Playing with colour, or its absence, will elevate your stack. While monochromatic and neutral jewellery combinations are stunning, a little colour goes a long way. Style yourself with vibrant gemstones or a mixture of metallic shades such as rosé, yellow, or white gold with different silver patinas to achieve a truly unique look.

3 / contrast

Mixing textures, materials, and patinas can completely transform your jewellery. For example, a singular rosé gold ring might softly blend into the wearer’s skin, whereas stacking it against a stark black oxidised silver ring will allow it to stand out beautifully, achieving an entirely new look. Combine rough and smooth textures, delicate family heirlooms with modern, timeless pieces; the rules are made to be broken.

4 / the pinkie

Don’t forget your pinkie! Our smallest finger frequently gets overlooked, yet like how a great pair of shoes complete an outfit, a pinkie ring is the finishing touch to striking hand art.

5 / Old & new

To loosen up your style, freely combine our pieces with your old favourites. Simple, classic designs can be combined with ease. If a piece is especially large or ornate, it’s destined to be the centre of attention! Try not to overcrowd these pieces, their individuality does all the talking. However, sometimes more is more…

6 / SEASONAL STYLES

Your wardrobe shifts as the seasons change, jewellery is no different. In warmer months it can be more comfortable to wear smaller, thinner stacks of rings as fingers can swell in the heat. Express your style and stay comfortable by focusing your stacking on earrings or necklaces as the temperature rises.

7 / STACK everything!

The stacking concept can be applied to all types of jewellery. Combine necklaces, earrings, bracelets, and cuffs in various sizes, materials, and finishes for stunning stacks.

8 / SIZING & SToppers

Naturally, your fingers vary in thickness. It’s important to consider where you want to wear your rings; the top or bottom of your stack may require different sizes. If you primarily wear your rings in a stack, getting them a tad larger (max +1 ring size) will ensure a comfortable fit. Wearing a slightly tighter ring (a stopper) at the top of your stack will perfectly secure your jewellery in place.

9 / rings on chains

At Katie g. we usually say ‘more is more’, although sometimes you need a free hand to go about your daily business. Transform your rings into pendants by storing them on a chain; this will create a unique necklace and continue to showcase your favourite pieces. Most of our rings are designed with this in mind; their versatility as rings and pendants offer endless possibilities.

10 / make it your own

Katie g. pieces are designed to last a lifetime. Have fun with your jewellery and continue to experiment as your style and collection evolves. The most important thing is that you feel comfortable and confident in your self-expression.
